.Case studies .Case studies

During the first two years of the project the eLene2learn network collected more than 60 case studies, where teachers and students of Secondary and Higher Education provide practical tips and indications on their "first hand" learning experiences using ICT and digital media. This "collection" contains two different types of report:

  • The "How to guide" scenarios describe current practices, tools and methodologies used in the application of ICT to develop learning to learn competencies. The scenarios were collected through Focus Group with students and teachers; Download the printable version of the "How to guide"
  • The Case studies report, in detail the implementation of  practices, methodologies and tools used within real classroom settings. Recommendations and suggestions help you assess the benefit of replicating these practices, methodologies, etc. in your own context. These resources are highly valuable as they come from a direct evaluation by  students and teachers involved.  Some of these resources are (also) partly available in Italian, French, Greek, Finnish, Polish, Spanish and German. If the translations  are available, you can find the translations directly on the sub-pages of each case study. (The most recent Case Studies are listed first on the top); Download the printable version of the Implementation Report.

You can browse the case studies here by Benefits and Tags. The two different type of report can be easily filtered using corresponding tags.

.Advantages of such a use for Transition. Innovative use
Museum visitors (SE students) are placed in the centre of an exhibition that is both physical & virtual using technology, services and learning content to provide personalized appealing educational experiences, changing the way museum education is perceived and conducted, worldwide. Natural Europe supports the creation of educational pathways that support inquire based learning within Natural History Museums (NHMs). The Natural Europe Learning Environment (NELE) deployed at all participating NHMs allows the creation of Educational Pathways using the Natural Europe Pathway Authoring Tool. • Teachers and educators will get informed about our innovative educational approaches and the way they can use them in their classes. • They will have access to our training workshops where they will have the opportunity to be more involved and guided through our methodologies and tools with the help of our experienced tutors. • They will learn how to design educational pathways using content from the collections/exhibitions of Natural History museums in their area, so as to develop certain skills of their students, engaging them in hands-on and minds-on activities in the premises of these museums, encouraging them in a more attractive way to use and extend their scientific knowledge. • They will get to know how to prepare their visits to NHMs following structured templates/ pathways / field trips and will be able to organize themselves such visits. They will learn how the Pathway Authoring Tool works and how they can benefit from it, so as to design and carry out effective student-centered activities, having in mind their students' educational needs. • They will have access to a large collection of existing pathways, digital resources and collections of NHMs through the Pathway Authoring Tool to create their own pathways. • They will have access to materials/activities that have been realized by other teachers / students in museums they might plan to visit, so as to reinforce the relevance of practical enquiry skills learnt in science lessons. • They will have the chance to use learning content from third-party learning federations like ARIADNE, Organic Edunet, OSR, etc. for their own learning activities.
