.Purpose of use
The online self-learning seminar helps in the development of skills on how to use digital media to support the learning process. More specifically Web 2.0 tools (like blogs, wikis, RSS, but also podcasts) are presented and their potential for academic success is shown.
.Way of use (as individual or group activity; tasks; etc.)
Several online videos show how to use different Web 2.0 tools for general topics such as 'information collection', 'knowledge processing' etc. Students have a choice of assignments for each topic.

.Advantages of such a use for Transition. Innovative use
The facets of the media-based learning are integrated in a personal learning and working environment concept. This allows students to develop a mixture of methodological skills to use not just for their study but also for a lifelong learning process.
.Disadvantages of such a use
Students have to invest a lot of their time and some realise that it is too much.
There is a big need of manpower to support the seminar.
